Railway Empire : “There’s so much to love about Railway Empire”

Railway Empire is an economic strategy game launched on January 26, 2018, created by Gaming Minds Studio, where the player becomes the owner of a railway company. Player’s task is to take control of the entire market and transform their company into an empire.

As the game takes place in the 19th and 20th centuries, the technology of the whole society is constantly changing. The key to success is to build not only new railways and to invest in new trains and stations but also to use innovative technologies (divided into five historical periods), construction of factories, buildings where you can repair your vehicles and to offer tourists various attractions. Railway Empire offers a unique campaign mode and missions where players have to achieve specific goals. In addition to this, players can also choose a free way to allow them to develop their virtual business without imposing their goals.

The World of Games: What to expect in the week

Railway Empire takes place in the United States and the starting point is in 1830. Our goal is to create a rail empire and eliminate the competition. The game extends over many years, allowing players to play even in the 20th century. Being a classic game of economic strategy, this means that the game focuses on the development of our company and the balance between revenue and consumption. Our responsibilities are the creation of new railways, the purchase and modernization of trains and the transport of people and goods. We also have to invest in railway stations, in buildings where we can repair vehicles, factories and even tourist attractions for passengers.

There are more than forty types of trains and during the game, we can use more than three hundred different technologies that are divided into five historical periods. With the growing level of technologies used by American society impacting the market, this forced to adapt to new business as well. The competition is controlled by AI and keeps the game interesting. We can play with up to three other companies, although less experienced players can play the game with one or two rivals. The struggle to maintain our position in the market is not just about business, therefore we can also sabotage other players by using bandits and spies.
