Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment has announced the launch of Scribblenauts Showdown, a new creative franchise video game that extends the creativity of the puzzle-action series by introducing two new game modes for one to four players. Scribblenauts Showdown will be available as of March 9 for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
The puzzle action of the game will be enriched with new modes, such as Showdown, where players will give a board game map by running a series of mini-games to win. In Showdown, up to four players can compete and imagine their way to victory through card-based strategy and creative skill. Mini-games called Wordy require the unlocking of the best object or character from the vast Scribblenauts dictionary, which is over 30.000 words to overcome an opponent. Speedy action mini-games reward the player who completes first a challenge. The board game map also displays the player’s progress. With multiple ways to move forward, each player has the chance to win, which keeps the enthusiasm present until the end of the game.
In Versus mode, two players can compete in no less than 25 mini-games that can vary from one session to another. Last but not least, in Sandbox mode, one or more players must unlock the mysteries of no less than eight new levels, generating and using any object they can imagine, from the book of over thirty thousand words included in the game. Sandbox mode will give you the chance to get creative and unleash your imagination to accomplish different goals, thus winning trophies and gaining Starites. By earning Starites and completing achievements, you get to customize your character. Players will be able to create their own Scribblenauts using a fashion design element created in the artistic style of the series, which can be unlocked by going through various challenges in the game.
Scribblenauts Showdown provides lots of fun based on the imagination and humour that the fans of the series love, with new social elements to entertain and challenge friends and family. “Players of all skill levels will enjoy testing their creativity in the fast-paced, head-to-head party-style gameplay”, said Steven Chiang, Executive Vice President, Production, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment.
